Zdeněk Svěrák was born on March 28, 1936, in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Svěrák is a
multi-talented artist, humorist, and songwriter who has written over 300 texts,
including prolific musical contributions since 1967 with his long-time partner
Jaroslav Uhlíř. He is a co-creator of the fictional character Jára Cimrman. As a
screenwriter and actor, his notable works include Obecná škola (1991) and Kolja
(1996), both of which received Academy Award nominations. In 2010, he received
