María Zahara Gordillo Campos, better known simply as Zahara, was born on
September 10, 1983, in Úbeda, Spain, and is a Spanish singer-songwriter. She
began her musical journey at 12 by composing "Una palabra". In 2005, she
self-released Día 913 (2005) and formed the project Zahara Eléctrica with
members of The Applebite. In 2009, she signed with Universal Music Spain and
released her first professional album La fabulosa historia de... (2009), which
debuted at number 23 on the Spanish charts. The album included "Merezco", chosen
as the official song for the Vuelta ciclista a Españ...
