Yinglee SriJumpol
The Thai equivalent of country music, luk thung, or Phleng luk thung ("child of
the field song"), was conceived after World War II in the central region of the
country and conveys depictions of rural life using a mixture of Thai and western
instruments. Born on March 27th, 1983 in Na Pho in the country's Buriram
province, Yinglee Srijumpol is known for her contribution to the luk thung genre
as well as the Laos-originating canon of mor lam ("expert song"). Although her
