Yano Ayako, born on 25 December 1979 in Iino‑town, Kochi Prefecture, Japan,
began her musical journey as a singer‑songwriter. After forming the folk duo
Monaka with Kawakami Kazuha in 1997, she performed locally at the live house
Mexico City and later at Kakogoya no 2nd Floor in the same city. Her first
single, "Terotero", released on 26 May 2004, gained attention after winning the
Grand Prix at the Karuizawa Love Song Award on 28 September 2003, which led to a
