Yahyel, a five-piece indie pop band from Tokyo, Japan, was formed in 2015 by
Shun Ikegai, Miru Shinoda, and Wataru Sugimoto. The band's name was derived from
a word meaning "alien," reflecting the perception of Japanese artists outside
their home country. In May 2015, they released their debut EP Y, which garnered
critical acclaim. Following this, yahyel toured in London and held a
