Xela
John Twells, known professionally as Xela, is a British electronic musician from
Walsall. Based in Berlin, Twells founded the record label Type Records. The
early musical style of the project combined constructed beats, melodies, and
electronica, as heard on the albums For Frosty Mornings and Summer Nights (2003)
and Tangled Wool (2004). A growing interest in horror soundtracks influenced a
transition toward atmospheric soundscapes of folk, drone, and psychedelia,
