Whiteberry is a five-member all-girl pop/rock band from Kitami, Hokkaido, Japan.
Formed in 1994, the group comprises vocalist Yuki Maeda, guitarist Aya Inatsuki,
bassist Yukari Hasegawa, keyboardist Rimi Mizusawa, and drummer Erika Kawamura.
After years of performing locally, Whiteberry attracted the attention of the
popular Japanese rock band Judy and Mary, which led to a recording deal with
Sony Japan's Pop Artist imprint in 1999. While still in high school, the band
