Wayne Newton, born Carson Wayne Newton on 3 April 1942, in Norfolk, Virginia, is a renowned American singer and entertainer. He began playing piano, guitar, and steel guitar at the age of six, displaying perfect pitch. By his teenage years, he was performing in local shows and with his brother, Jerry Newton. In 1958, while still a high school student, he secured a two-week contract to perform in Las Vegas at the Fremont Hotel.
