Thomas Wayne Hancock III, known as Wayne "The Train" Hancock, was born on May 1, 1965, in Dallas, Texas, and is an American singer-songwriter. He began writing songs at twelve, influenced by artists like Hank Williams and Jimmie Rodgers. At eighteen, he won the Wrangler Country Showdown contest and joined the United States Marine Corps. In 1990, he moved to Austin, Texas, where he met Joe Ely and joined the cast of Chippy. His debut album, Thunderstorms and Neon Signs, was released in 1995 on Deja Disc Records. Produced by Lloyd Maines, it sold 22,000 copies in its first year. He...
