Waylon Malloy Payne, also known as Waylon Payne, was born on April 5, 1972, in
Nashville, Tennessee, and is an American country singer, songwriter, musician,
and actor. The son of country singer Sammi Smith and guitarist Jody Payne,
Waylon Payne began his music career in the clubs of Los Angeles, notably at the
