Born Sonia Dronnier in Lorient (Morbihan) on October 7, 1960, singer Viktor
Lazlo is best known for her adaptation of "Cry Me a River" under the title
"Pleurer des rivières". She grew up in Brittany and then in Belgium with her
parents of Martinique and Grenada origins, and studied art history before
turning to music and modeling. She adopted the stage name Viktor Lazlo, in
reference to the character in the film Casablanca (1942), and made a name for
herself in 1985 with the album She, featuring the hits "Pleurer des rivières"
