Victor Borge, born Børge Rosenbaum on January 3, 1909 in Copenhagen, Denmark,
was a pianist and comedian known for blending music and humor. He began piano
lessons at age two and gave his first recital at eight. In 1926, he played his
first major concert and later started his stand-up act combining piano music and
jokes. In 1933, Borge began touring extensively in Europe. During World War II,
he fled to the United States and quickly adapted his comedy for American
audiences. He debuted on Rudy Vallee's radio show in 1941 and won Best New Radio
