Verônica Sabino, born in Rio de Janeiro on October 4, 1960, began her music
career in the early 1980s as part of the vocal group Céu da Boca, with whom she
recorded the albums Céu da Boca (1981) and Baratotal (1982). Her solo debut,
Metamorphose (1985), produced by Roberto Menescal, featured songs by leading
Brazilian composers such as João Bosco, Tom Jobim, and Ivan Lins. She gained
national recognition in 1986 with her hit "Demais," featured on the Selva de
