Umberto Emilio Bindi was born in Bogliasco, Italy, on 12 May 1932, and became a
singer and songwriter after receiving classical training. His first composition,
"T'ho perduto", appeared in 1950, but his breakthrough came in 1959 with the
single "Arrivederci" (recorded by Don Marino Barreto Jr.), which became the
best‑selling Italian single that year. Bindi released his debut album Umberto
