Gertrude Richards Moreault was an American jazz and swing singer born in 1920 in
Manhattan, New York City. Born Gertrude Richards and later known as Trudy
Richards, she began her professional career at age ten on the radio program Horn
and Hardart Children's Hour. She subsequently performed with the orchestra of
Freddie Slack before joining Charlie Barnet’s ensemble in 1949. Her recording
history with Barnet featured the tracks “Be-Bop Spoken Here”, “Gloomy Sunday”
and “Ill Wind”. After signing with Decca Records, she recorded the singles
“Nashville Blues” and “Blacksmith Blues” ...
