Trafassi, a Surinamese‑Dutch group founded in 1981 by former members of The
Happy Boys, emerged from a kaseko formation into a multilingual band performing
in Sranan Tongo, Dutch, and English. Their breakthrough came with the 1985
single "Wasmasjien", which peaked at number ten on the Dutch Top 40 and received
extensive promotion, including an unofficial music video. Subsequent releases
