Tita Parra
Cristina Isabel Parra Cereceda, known professionally as Tita Parra, was born on
March 21, 1956, in Santiago, Chile, and is a Chilean singer-songwriter,
guitarist, and keyboardist. She began her musical career in the 1970s. As the
daughter of Isabel Parra and granddaughter of Violeta Parra, Tita Parra has
contributed to maintaining the legacy of her famous family. Her early work
involved fusing Latin American folk music with elements of jazz and bossa nova.
