Thomas Stabenow, born September 11, 1952, in Kirchberg an der Jagst, Germany, is
a bassist known for his work in modern jazz. He initially played piano and
clarinet before switching to double bass at age 21 and studying music education
at the Stuttgart University of Music. Stabenow's career highlights include
collaborating with Bernd Konrad on Traumtänzer (1980) and joining Peter
Herbolzheimer's Rhythm Combination & Brass in 1986, which led to performances
