The Tea Party was formed in 1990 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, by vocalist and
guitarist Jeff Martin, bassist Stuart Chatwood, and drummer Jeff Burrows. The
trio had previously performed together in high‑school bands and decided to name
their new group after the Beat generation poets’ “tea parties.” Their first
self‑released album, The Tea Party (1991), showcased a psychedelic‑blues blend
