The Rimshots
The Rimshots, an American funk and disco band, originated as a house band for
All Platinum Records and Stang Records in the early 1970s. Initially unnamed,
they recorded for various artists signed to these labels, including Hank Ballard
and Etta James. Their breakthrough moment came when they were tasked with
reproducing the hit single "7-6-5-4-3-2-1 (Blow Your Whistle)", which was
released under their new name, The Rimshots. From 1972 to 1976, the group
recorded over fifty projects for Platinum-Chess Records and began touring
