The Murmaids
The Murmaids, an American vocal trio composed of sisters Carol Fischer and Terry
Fischer and Sally Gordon, were formed in North Hollywood, California. The
Fischer sisters' father, Carl Fischer, was a notable composer and arranger, and
their mother, Terry Sr., had a career in big band singing. The trio's first
recordings took the form of demos produced by Mike Post, followed by a demo for
producer Kim Fowley that led to their signing with Chattahoochee Records. Billed
as the Murmaids, they recorded "Popsicles and Icicles", written by David Gates,
which became a hit in January 1964...
