The Merry Macs were an American and British close-harmony pop music quartet
active from the 1920s until 2000. Known for hits such as "Mairzy Doats" (1943)
and "Sentimental Journey" (1944), the group formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota,
initially consisting of the McMichael brothers: Judd, Joe, and Ted. They were
discovered by Eddie Dunstedter and renamed the Mystery Trio. In 1933, they added
female lead singer Cheri McKay and changed their name to the Merry Macs. Their
