The Dayton Family
The Dayton Family, an American hip hop group from Flint, Michigan, was formed in
1993 by Ira "Bootleg" Dorsey and Raheen "Shoestring" Peterson. Named after a
notorious local street, they released their debut album, What's On My Mind?, in
1995 under Po' Broke Records. The group faced legal issues and lineup changes,
including the imprisonment of Matt "Backstabba" Hinkle. They released several
albums, notably F.B.I. in 1996 and Welcome To The Dope House in 2002. After a
