The Blasters
The Blasters is an American roots-rock, rockabilly, and rock and roll band
formed in Downey, California, in 1979 by brothers Phil Alvin and Dave Alvin.
Originally known as the Blues Blasters, the group initially played a blend of
rock and roll, country, and blues, distinguishing itself from the punk wave
prevalent on the West Coast at the time. Their early performances caught the
attention of John Doe, who helped them sign with the record label Slash. The
