Terry Baucom, born on October 6, 1952, in Monroe, North Carolina, was an
American bluegrass banjo player, fiddle player, vocalist, and band leader. He
began his musical journey at age 10. He started playing the fiddle at 14,
influenced by his family's musical heritage. Baucom co-founded Boone Creek with
Ricky Skaggs and Jerry Douglas in 1976. After Boone Creek disbanded, he joined
Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver in 1979. Baucom formed The New Quicksilver in 1986.
In 1991, he co-founded IIIrd Tyme Out with Russell Moore. He also formed the
