T.D.F. (Totally Dysfunctional Family) was a British pop duo consisting of
Eric Clapton and songwriter Simon Climie. The pair met at Olympic Studios, where
Clapton, unable to finish new material while managing a rehabilitation center
and a personal relationship, enlisted Climie’s songwriting expertise. In 1997,
the duo released their debut studio album, Retail Therapy, which reached number
7 on Billboard's Top Contemporary Jazz Albums chart but was poorly received by
critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine.
