Taana Gardner, born September 3, 1960 in Newark, New Jersey, is an American singer. She began her musical career at age eleven, performing with theater groups such as the Harlem Children's Theater Group and the Dance Theater of Harlem. Her breakthrough came in 1978 when she recorded vocals for "Work That Body" by Kenton Nix, which became a hit at the Paradise Garage.
