Ondre Moore, known professionally as Swifty McVay, was born in Detroit,
Michigan. He began his music career as a rapper and singer. In 1999, he joined
the hip-hop group D12, initially formed by Proof. The group released their debut
extended play, The Underground EP, in 1997. Swifty McVay's first appearance with
D12 was on the album Devil's Night (2001), which debuted at number 1 on the U.S.
