Born in Inglewood, Los Angeles, California, on June 7, 1993, Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown aka Swae Lee grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi, with his brother Slim Jxmmi (Aaquil Ibinshaman Brown). The two formed the rap group Rae Sremmurd, which achieved international success with the albums SremmLife (2015) and SremmLife 2 (2016).
