Steam were an American pop-rock music group formed in 1969. The band's notable
members included Gary DeCarlo, Dale Frashuer, and Paul Leka. Steam achieved
their breakthrough with the single "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye", which shot
to the top of the charts in the US for two weeks in December 1969. The song was
written by studio musicians Gary DeCarlo (under the name Garrett Scott), Dale
Frashuer, and Paul Leka, and produced by the latter at Mercury Records studios
