Sofia Eugenia Koutsovitis, known by her stage name Sofia Rei, is an Argentine
vocalist, songwriter, producer, and educator. She began studying music at age
four and sang with the Colón Teatro Children's Choir and Argentina's National
Children's Choir. In 2001, she moved to Boston to study jazz and improvisation
at the New England Conservatory of Music, earning a Master’s in Jazz and
Improvisation in 2003. Rei’s album, Sube Azul (2009), which she co-produced and
largely composed, won Best World Beat Album at the 2009 Independent Music
