Skanda
Skanda is a Spanish band from Mieres, Asturias. Formed in 1996 by Pepe Fueyo and
Marcos Castañón, the ensemble originally performed under the name Mieriners. The
group’s musical style is associated with the folk mestizo and industrial folk
genres, combining traditional Asturian music with elements of rock, soul, jazz
and ska. Their recordings feature lyrics written in the Asturian language. The
band released its eponymous debut studio album, Skanda, in 1999 through the
