Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars, a band from Sierra Leone, formed in 2002 by
musicians displaced during the country’s civil war. They began performing in
refugee camps in Guinea with basic equipment provided by aid agencies. Their
story was documented in the 2005 film Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars, directed
by Zach Niles and Banker White.
The band released their debut album, Living Like a Refugee, in 2006 on Anti-.
Subsequent albums included Rise & Shine (2010), which won Album of the Year at
