Shock Therapy, an American punk and new wave band from Detroit, Michigan, was
founded in the early 1980s by Gregory John McCormick ("Itchy") and Eric Keith
Jackson. The group's debut album, Shock Therapy, was released in 1985. Their
breakthrough came with the 1991 release of Hate Is a 4-Letter Word, which
included the title track. In 2000, McCormick's incarceration for arson halted
band activities until his release in June 2007. The album The Moon & The Sun was
released in 2008, following McCormick's death on November 5 of the same year. In
