Sarah Elizabeth Charles, born in 1989 in Springfield, Massachusetts, is an American jazz singer-songwriter. She began piano lessons with her grandmother at six. After graduating high school, she moved to New York City, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the New School, and studied with Geri Allen, Cecil Bridgewater, George Cables, and Sheila Jordan. In 2012, her quartet Scope released the album Red, followed by Inner Dialogue in 2015, produced by Christian Scott.
