Samantha Jones
Jean Owen, born on November 17, 1943, is a former English singer known by her
stage name Samantha Jones. She began her career as part of The Vernons Girls in
1961, a popular vocal group that opened for The Beatles. In 1964, Owen started a
solo career under the name Samantha Jones, signing with United Artists. Her
early singles included "It's All Because of You" (1964) and "Don't Come Any
Closer / I Woke Up Crying" (1965). She won awards such as the Grand Prix of the
