Sarah Maria Taylor, known as Sally Taylor, was born on January 7, 1974, in New
York City. She is an American singer-songwriter and musician who began writing
songs as a teenager and co-founded the student rock band The Slip. At Brown
University, she taught herself to play the guitar and performed as a solo
artist. Her first album, Tomboy Bride, was released in 1998 through her indie
record label Blue Elbow. Taylor followed this with Apt. #6S (2000) and Shotgun
