Ruby Andrews, born Ruby M. Stackhouse on March 12, 1947, in Hollandale,
Mississippi, was an American soul singer who began her musical journey during
her high school years at Hyde Park Academy High School in Chicago. She started
singing with the group The Vondells and released her debut single under the name
Ruby Stackhouse for Kelmac Records.
Ruby Andrews' breakthrough came in 1967 with "Casonova (Your Playing Days Are
Over)", which reached number 9 on the R&B charts and number 51 on the Pop
