Rual Holt Yarbrough, born January 13, 1930, in Bonnertown, Tennessee, was an
American five-string banjo player. Inspired by Bill Monroe, Yarbrough started
his career in the mid-1950s with the Alabamians and formed the Dixie Gentlemen
in 1956. They disbanded in 1966, leading Yarbrough to join Jimmy Martin's Sunny
Mountain Boys and later work with notable acts like Flatt & Scruggs and Jim &
Jesse. In 1969, he joined Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys, recording 21 tracks
