Roland Joseph White was an American bluegrass musician born in 1938 in
Madawaska, Maine. Born Roland Joseph LeBlanc, he was of French-Canadian descent
and began his career performing in a family bluegrass band with his siblings.
After relocating to California, the group was hired to perform on television as
the Country Boys. White served in the US Army before re-joining the ensemble,
which was renamed the Kentucky Colonels. Between 1967 and 1969, he performed as
