Roberto Zerquera Blanco, known professionally as Roberto Blanco, was born on
June 7, 1937, in Tunis. He is a German schlager singer and entertainer of
Afro-Cuban origin. Blanco grew up in Beirut and Madrid before beginning his
career in entertainment. His initial breakthrough came with the release of
"Jesebell" and "Ob schwarz, ob weiß" in 1957. In 1963, he released "Twistin' mit
Monika" which marked his entry into the German music scene. Blanco's career took
off in the 1960s with roles in films such as Der Stern von Afrika (The Star of
Africa) and hits like "Heute so, morgen so"...
