Richard Smith
Richard Smith, born December 12, 1971 in Beckenham, England, is an English
guitarist. He began playing the guitar at age five, mastering the fingerpicking
style of Chet Atkins and Django Reinhardt, and performed with Atkins at Her
Majesty's Theatre in London at age eleven. Smith moved to Nashville, Tennessee,
in 1999 and performed as a solo artist and as a duo with his wife, American
cellist Julie Adams. He released the album The Richard Smith Guitar Trio (1996)
with his brothers, followed by the solo albums Requests (2002), Slim Pickin'
