Richard Hell and the Voidoids were an American punk rock band from New York City
established in 1976. The ensemble was fronted by musician Richard Hell, who was
born as Richard Meyers. Hell was a former member of the ensembles Television and
the Heartbreakers. The group reached wider visibility as the first rock band to
perform at the club CBGB. The ensemble consisted of guitarists Robert Quine and
