Renārs Kaupers, born on September 1, 1974, in Jelgava, Latvian SSR, is a Latvian
singer, lyricist, and actor. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the
Latvian pop-rock band Prāta Vētra, known internationally as Brainstorm. The band
achieved significant international recognition when they placed third at the
Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with "My Star". Kaupers also co-hosted the
Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and 2005, sharing the stage with Marie N. and
Katrina Leskanich, respectively.
