Raymond Stuart Martin, born Kurt Kohn on October 11, 1918 in Vienna, Austria,
was a conductor known for his contributions to classical music. He began his
musical journey as a violinist and studied at the Imperial Academy of Music and
Performing Arts in Vienna. In 1938, he immigrated to England. During World War
II, Martin was interned in Australia but later returned to England and served in
the British Army's Intelligence Corps. Post-war, he worked for EMI as a record
producer and arranger. His first notable singles included "Blue Tango" (1952),
"Swedish Rhapsody" (1953), and "...
