Rafael Cameron, born 1951 in Guyana, is a Guyanese-American singer-songwriter
associated with disco and boogie. He rose to prominence after signing with
Salsoul Records in 1980, releasing his debut album, Cameron, that same year. His
follow-up album, Cameron’s in Love (1981), included the single "Boogie’s Gonna
Get Ya", later remixed by François Kevorkian. Among his best-known tracks are
"Magic of You (Like the Way)" and "Let’s Get It Off", which charted on the
Billboard R&B and Dance charts. Much of his work was produced by Randy Muller, a
key figure in the R&B band Skyy.
