POSITIVE BLACK SOUL
Positive Black Soul is a Senegalese rap group formed in 1989, consisting of
Didier Awadi and Doug E Tee. They released the EP Boul Falé (1992). In 1992,
their track "Bagn Bagn Beug" appeared on a compilation of Senegalese rap. Their
debut studio album, Salaam (1995), was followed by the EP Daw Thiow (1996). The
group's music blended traditional Senegalese rhythms with contemporary hip hop.
They collaborated with artists such as MC Solaar and toured across Europe. The
group also released the albums New York-Paris-Dakar (1997) and Run Cool (2001).
