Polyteknikkojen Kuoro
Polytechnikkojen Kuoro, an academic male choir established on October 13th,
1900, is composed primarily of engineering students and graduates from Aalto
University. The choir's notable achievements include performing Jean Sibelius'
symphonic poem Kullervo at the BBC Proms in 2015 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra
conducted by Sakari Oramo. They commissioned and premiered nearly 40 new works
for male choir, including two International Rostrum of Composers prizewinners by
Jukka Tiensuu and Eero Hämeenniemi.
