Peter Dvorský, born September 25, 1951, in Partizánske, Czechoslovakia, is a
Slovak operatic tenor. He studied piano before transitioning to opera and made
his professional debut at the Slovak National Theatre in 1972 as Lensky in
Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. Dvorský won first prize at the international
Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1974, leading to an apprenticeship at La
Scala in Milan. He debuted at prestigious venues including the Vienna State
