Pete Sutherland
Peter Jeffrey Sutherland, born on May 13, 1951 in Burlington, Vermont, was an
American folk musician. After taking piano lessons, he learned banjo and fiddle
at Castleton State College and studied English and education at the University
of Vermont. In the 1970s he learned bluegrass traditions in North Carolina, then
joined the band Metamora in the 1980s, performing across all states except
Hawaii. Returning to Vermont in 1990, he played with the Clayfoot Strutters and
